What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are family of substances that are injected into the tissues to create shape, structure, plump, and lift. These injections are non invasive solutions to restore lost volume, and also fill in lines, wrinkles and scars.

There are several types of dermal fillers available at Avebelle Clinic. The most popular dermal filler injections are Hyaluronic acid-based (HA) fillers that are added where the volume and shape is needed.

There are also other types fillers known as bio-stimulants. The mechanism of action for these fillers is to create a natural lift and plump by boosting your own body’s collagen synthesis.

Hyaluronic Acid
(HA) Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Dermal Fillers are gel-like, sugar-based, hydrophilic or “water loving” substances that are injected into the tissues for aesthetic and hydration purposes.

Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by the body. It exists in large amounts in tissues, where it provides moisture, firmness, and volume. HA is produced in the lab to generate HA fillers and cross-linked that results in more stability in the body.

HA fillers are used to add hydration and to correct unwanted lines and wrinkles. Their purpose is also to enhance the shape and volume of lips, cheeks, temples, chin, jawline,  necklines, hands and so forth.

These fillers are also used as skin boosters where they  provide skin with moisture, firmness, and plump and eliminate signs of age-related changes along with scaring and other skin irregularities.

Radiesse (Calcium Hydroxylapatite) and Sculptra (injectable Poly-L-Lactic Acid) belong to the bio-stimulant group of fillers that their main fuction is to stimulate collagen in order to create a natural lift and volume.

These fillers work subtly and gradually over time and result in a more youthful appearance.

Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, bio-stimulant fillers boost body’s natural collagen to help restore inner structures. They improve droopiness and age-related changes in the face and body and furthermore create healthier and more radiant skin.

The result of these treatments  appear 4-8 weeks after procedure, but the outcome usually lasts longer than HA-based fillers. People with aging skin are better candidates for these filler, especially if the concern is loss of collagen, droop or “sagginess”.

Structure Shape Volume

Filler injection is the most effective non-surgical procedure to improve overall beauty of the face.

Whether genetics  or age related, filler injection is used to enhance structure, shape and volume of lips, chin, cheeks, laugh-lines, jawline, and so on.

With a careful and detailed assessment using a 3D approach, we also create balance among facial features. Essentially, beauty requires some harmony and balance among all part of the face; Therefore fillers are used to beautify that pretty face

Aging Process and Fillers

Within the last decades we all have had a better understanding of the aging process. It is now well documented that besides the changes that occur in  the skin, the superficial and deep tissues also lose volume and structure due to aging.

Fillers restore a youthful look, by the replacing lost volume and/or stimulating collagen in the superficial and deep tissues. The characteristic of facial aging begins to present itself in end of 20s to mid 30s and excels through 40s an 50s. Aging process often involves deepening of laugh-lines, under-eye hollowness (tear troughs), marionette lines, and appearance of jowls, flattening of the cheeks and overall droop or “sagginess”.

The signs of aging face can be completely or partially enhanced using filler injection. Fillers are the most popular and least invasive treatment to address these concerns when carefully and strategically placed.
